Biography

After graduation, he got a ship's doctor on a merchant ship in Tallinn. In 1974, during a ship's call to Abidjan (the largest city in the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire , West Africa), he sought political asylum at the local US Embassy, from where he was then taken directly to the United States.
After an internship at university clinics in New York, he studied at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute and worked as the editor of the newspaper psychiatry department. Then he opened a private psychiatric practice in New York.
In the late 1970s. A. Elder became interested in exchange transactions and began to invest in stocks and options . He founded the company Financial Trading Seminars, Inc. (New York) and became its director. Company profile - training of specialists in the field of exchange trading . A. Elder conducts consultations, trainings and seminars in the field of trading in the USA, Asia, Australia, Europe and Russia.
Alexander Elder about his path: “My path to exchange success was a long one: either dizzying ups, then painful falls. Moving forward or looping, I repeatedly stuffed myself cones and ruined my exchange account. After each failure, I returned to work in the clinic, saved up money, read, thought, clarified the methodology, and then started playing again. ”
Author of several books on exchange trading and the psychology of exchange business. The book “How to Play and Win on the Exchange” occupied the first lines of the rating of Russian economic bestsellers by Kommersant-Dengi magazine. [8] [9] His book, “Come into My Trading Room” (“Trading with Dr. Elder” in the Russian edition), was recognized as the best book by the authoritative American magazine Barron’s for 2002. In this regard, it is curious that Elder actually does not pay attention to risk hedging in any of his books and ignores options , and he, by his own admission, suffers from exchange gambling and has repeatedly lost large deposits entirely.
