Augustine Thevarparampil (born April 1, 1891 , Ramapuram , Kerala , India - October 16, 1973 , Ramapuram, India) is a blessed Roman Catholic and Syro-Malabar church, a Catholic priest who devoted himself to serving the untouchable caste . Revered in the Catholic Church as the "apostle of the untouchables."

Biography
Augustine Thevarapampil was born on April 1, 1891 in a family of Indian Christians in the village of Ramapuram, Kerala, India. On December 17, 1921, he was ordained priest, after which he served as vicar in the church of Sts. Augustine in his native village. For fifty years he has been engaged in his pastoral and social activities with representatives of the untouchable caste, improving their status in Indian society. Avgustin Thevarapampil lived among the pariahs and he managed by example of his simple, humble life to baptize more than five thousand outcasts.
On October 16, 1973, at the age of 82, after a short illness, Augustine Thevarparapil died. After some time, his grave became a pilgrimage center.
Glorification
The process of beatification began on August 11, 1897 in his home village of Ramapuram. On June 22, 2004, Pope John Paul II confirmed the heroic virtues of Augustine Thevarapampil. On April 30, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI ranked him blessed.
