Fedor Alexandrovich

Fedor Alexandrovich ( 1380 ? - 1420 ?) - Prince of Rostov-Borisoglebsky .

Biography

The second son of Prince Alexander Konstantinovich . [one]

In 1397, during the struggle of the Grand Duke of Moscow Vasily Dmitrievich with Novgorod , the Dvina land took the side of Moscow and, fearing its metropolis - Novgorod, asked the grand duke for the governor to whom Prince Fyodor was sent. The latter was besieged by the Novgorodians in the fortress of Orlets and, after a month-long siege, they took it, and Prince Fedor, taking from him “the prize and toll,” they released him away with all his military men. [one]

10 years later (and according to the Nikon Chronicle - 11), during the reign of Prince Fedor in Rostov, the city burned out almost all and was also plundered by the Tatars, and the prince with the inhabitants fled the city. [one]

In 1411, among other princes of Rostov , Prince Fyodor stood on the side of Moscow in the struggle of the latter with the Nizhny Novgorod princes and took part in the "evil battle" at the village of Lyskovo , which ended in the defeat of Moscow troops. Prince Fedor took part in another campaign against the Nizhny Novgorod princes, undertaken by the Moscow prince in 1414. [one]

He served the princes of Moscow not only as a warrior, but also as an administrator. In 1417, at the request of the Pskovites , Prince Fyodor was appointed Grand Duke of Moscow to be their viceroy and, as it seems, fell to the liking of the Pskovites. In the second year of his reign in Pskov, he concluded a profitable "peace in the old days with Novgorod" for Pskov. In 1420, during the plague raging in Pskov, Prince Fyodor fell ill and expecting a near death, tonsured monks and left for Moscow, where he probably died at the same time. [one]

His wife, unknown to us by name, died in 1425. Of all the children attributed to him by the pedigrees, one can undoubtedly speak only of his son Alexander. [one]
