She founded the Catholic monastic congregation “ Sisters of the Rosary from Jerusalem ” - the only Catholic congregation that arose in the Holy Land .

Biography
Maria Alfonsina was born into a wealthy Christian Arab family. At the age of 14, overcoming the resistance of her parents who did not want to give her to the monastery, Maria Alfonsina joined the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, later she founded the new monastic congregation, “Sisters of the Holy Rosary from Jerusalem”.
During the beatification of Maria Alfonsina, Pope Benedict XVI said that Maria Alfonsina was “one of the most influential female figures in the Church in the Middle East” [1] .
Praise
The rank of Mary Alfonso was blessed by the prefect of the Congregation for the canonization of saints, Archbishop Angelo Amato and the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Fuad Tual on November 22, 2009 at the Annunciation Church in Nazareth .
On May 17, 2015, Pope Francis ranked her among the saints along with Mariam Baouardi , Maria Cristina Brando and Jeanne Emilia de Villeneuve [2] .
