According to the “ ”, Ashur-dan I, son of Ninurth-apal-Ekur , ruled for 46 years [2] .
Ashur-dan I fought with the Babylonian king Zabab-noise-iddin and captured several cities in the vicinity of the Small Zab river . Under him, Assyria somewhat recovered from the period of frequent change of rulers.
