Researcher Thomas Mitchell was the first European to visit the area of the present city, and the initials carved by him can still be found in the apical corymbia near the Muni River. In 1911, the Tallona area was thoroughly studied, as a result of which a place was reserved for a settlement of 780 acres (3.2 km²). With the arrival of the railway, the city began to flourish, shops and hotels appeared. [1] Now Tallon is a center for growing wheat and producing wool. [one]
