History

The village of Volochayevka was founded in 1908 by settlers from Kuban under the leadership of Makar Semenovich Volochayev.

In February 1922, one of the largest battles of the final part of the Civil War , the Volochaevsky battle, took place in the settlement area on the June-Quran hill .

Until the 1990s, the museum-monument to the heroes of the civil war in the Far East functioned on the hill, now it is in disrepair. The memorial is included in the “7 Wonders of the Jewish Autonomous Region” list. [3] Established in 1928. In 2012, to the 90th anniversary of the events on the Volochayevskaya hill, a chapel was erected in the name of the Icon of the Mother of God "Softener of Evil Hearts."

In 1935, Volochaevka-1 railway station was commissioned. At the station remained a memorial hall with mosaics and busts on the topic of the Civil War.
