Fletcher's Ice Island ( T-3 ) is an iceberg discovered by Joseph Fletcher in the late 1940s. One of the most famous drifting islands. Chipped off the Ward Hunt Ice Shelf . The area of the island was 90 square meters. km, ice thickness - up to 50 meters. From 1952 to 1978, it repeatedly housed drifting research stations . In the early 1980s, it was presumably carried by the current to the North Atlantic and melted.
