Kossovich number ( ) Is a similarity criterion , in the theory of drying, which gives a relationship between the amounts of heat expended in evaporating a liquid and heating a wet body. It is defined as follows:
Where
- - specific heat of vaporization of the liquid;
- - body moisture capacity ( - moisture content);
- - specific heat of the wet body;
- - the potential difference of moisture transfer;
- - the difference between the final and initial temperatures.
