Sergey Enobovich Choban ( October 9, 1962 , Leningrad , USSR ) is a Russian and German architect working in various cities of Europe and the Russian Federation. Member of the Union of German Architects (BDA), winner of architectural awards and participant in various architectural exhibitions. According to a project developed by him together with Peter Schweger, the tallest building in Europe, the Federation complex , was built in the Moscow City business center, now the second after the Lakhta Center in St. Petersburg.

Biography
Sergei Enverovich Choban was born in Leningrad , in a family of scientists. Father, Enver Abdurakhmanovich Choban, a theoretical physicist, was a professor at the Polytechnic University; mother, Irina Solomonovna Choban, worked there as a turbine engineer; Grandfather, Solomon Abramovich Kantor , was also a professor at the Polytechnic University [2] .
In 1973-1980 he studied at the B. Johanson Secondary Art School, in 1980-1986 - at the Faculty of Architecture of the St. Petersburg Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. Repin (workshop of professors S. B. Speransky and V. S. Volonsevich). Since 1986, he worked in the architectural workshop of V. B. Fabritsky, since 1989, he began working in Leningrad as an independent architect.
In 1991 he moved to Germany, where from 1992 he worked at the Hamburg architecture bureau Nietz · Prasch · Sigl and soon received German citizenship. In 1995, he became the managing partner of the bureau, called nps tchoban voss, and headed his Berlin office, after which he began to actively participate in the development of Berlin: such projects as the Kubiks movie theater, Arndt gallery, and DomAkvare complexes were implemented on his projects ”And Kronprinzenkare, a synagogue on Münstersht Strasse, the Nhow hotel and the Coca-Cola headquarters building in the East Harbor, as well as the building of the Museum of Architectural Design (together with Sergey Kuznetsov ), based on his own collection.
In 2003, he opened the architectural bureau Choban and Partners in Moscow, in 2006 through a merger with Bureau S. P. Project ”together with Sergey Kuznetsov created the architectural association SPEECH and became its leading partner. In 2008, he founded the eponymous architectural journal speech:.
Twice he was the curator of the Russian pavilion at the Architectural Biennale in Venice: in 2010, he implemented the Factory Russia project as part of this exhibition, and in 2012 the i-city / i-land project . The dome of QR codes received the first award for Russia at the Architectural Biennale - a special mention of the jury headed by architect David Chipperfield that year. In 2015, he designed the Russian pavilion at the World Expo in Milan. In 2017, together with architectural historian Vladimir Sedov, he published the book “30:70. Architecture as a balance of power ”( UFO Publishing House). In 2018, he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Athens Architectural Club and became the winner of the European Prize for Architecture 2018.
Since 2011 - Member of the Skolkovo Foundation's Town Planning Council [3] .

- In 2009, Benoit House, built in St. Petersburg according to the design of Sergey Choban, became the winner of the Best Building Awards in the open public vote "House of the Year: People's Choice."
- In 2011 he was awarded the medal of the Union of Architects of Russia "For high architectural excellence" named after V.I. Bazhenova.
- In 2012, at the International Exhibition of Architecture “Arch Moscow”, along with Sergei Kuznetsov, he was chosen “Architect of the Year”.

- In 2014, Sergey Choban received a jury award at the 40th KRob International Architecture Competition (USA) and a special jury prize from the American Society of Architectural Graphics (ASAI).
- In 2015, Sergey Choban became the laureate of the 30th International Architectural in Perspective Contest of Architecture by the American Society of Architectural Graphics (ASAI), receiving the Award of Excellence in the Drawing from Life category and the Informal Category Award for the best sketch-fantasy.

Sergey Choban is an author, curator and participant of many exhibitions, including the Aedes architectural gallery in Berlin, Arch-Moscow in Moscow. He was the curator of the Moscow Drawing Archive exhibition, organized by the gallery of the German Institute for International Relations (IFA) and displayed in Berlin, Bonn and Stuttgart.

Collection
Sergey Choban is the owner of a collection of graphics of Italian, French and Russian masters of the XVIII — XX centuries. Drawings from this collection were exhibited at the Tretyakov Gallery as part of the exhibition "Only Italy! Architectural Graphics of the 18th – 21st Centuries ” [5] .
In 2009, he founded the Tchoban Foundation Museum for Architectural Drawing, a charitable foundation for architectural drawing.
