Slovenian Tolar ( Slovenian Tolar ) (code ISO 4217 - “SIT”) is the national currency of Slovenia , which was in use from October 8, 1991 to January 1, 2007 and replaced the Yugoslav dinar due to the territorial and political fragmentation of Yugoslavia . The name comes from thaler . 1 Slovenian tolar is equal to 100 stotin (stotin). There were coins in denominations of 10, 20, 50 stotins and 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 tolars; banknotes - 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 5000 and 10,000 tolars.
