Balbina (d. 130 ) - an early Christian martyr . Holy Catholic Church , commemorated on March 31 .

St. Balbin was the daughter of St. Quirin , who led the Roman guard, assigned to Christians sentenced to death. Once he witnessed how Pope Alexander , condemned to death, during prayer, chained, miraculously ended up in the cell of his friend Hermes and encouraged him before the execution. After this incident, Quirin brought his daughter Balbin to Alexander and asked to heal her from a base disease . With the blessing of Pope Alexander Balbin bowed to the strings of the holy Apostle Peter , after which she found healing.

St. Balbin, like other members of the family of St. Quirina was baptized by Holy Pope Alexander . She was tormented for her faith and buried in the Pretextat catacombs on the Appian Way . Later, her holy relics were transferred to the Roman temple of St. Balbin on the Aventine hill .
