Van Zandt County - The county of Texas in the United States of America . For the year 2000, there lived 48 140 people. According to the United States Census Bureau, in 2008 the district population was 52 197 people. [2] The district center is the city of Canton .

History
Van Zand County was formed in 1848 from part of Henderson County . It was named after Isaac Van Zand, a member of the Congress of the Republic of Texas .
