“Sunflower” ( French: Tournesols ) is the name of two cycles of paintings by Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh . The first series was made in Paris in 1887. It is dedicated to lying flowers. The second series was completed a year later, in Arles . She depicts a bouquet of sunflowers in a vase. Two Parisian paintings purchased by van Gogh's friend Paul Gauguin .
