Malaya Okhta - the historical part of the Krasnogvardeysky district of St. Petersburg . Located between the rivers Neva , Okhta and Okkervil , as well as the connecting line of the railway.

Received the name of the river Okhta , on the left bank of which is located. The definition of Malaya is given to distinguish it from the area of Bolshaya Okhta , located on the right bank.
In Swedish times, a fortress and the city of Nyenskans were located at the mouth of the Ohta.
The settlement here arose in the 1720s by decree of Peter I. At the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century there was a working suburb here. In 1922, the Small Okhta was included in the line of Leningrad.
The southern territory of the district was reconstructed and built up with new residential buildings in the 1920–1930s. In the 1950s, the Stalinist ensemble of Zanevskaya Square was formed , which became the planning center of Malaya Okhta. In the 1960s , typical (mostly five-story) houses appeared on Shaumyana Avenue, Novocherkassk and Zanevskiy Avenues [1] .
The only metro station Novocherkasskaya (opened in 1985 ) is located on Malaya Okhta.
Malohtinsky Avenue , Malookhtinskaya Embankment , Malookhtinsky Park , Malookhtinsky Cemetery are named in the district.
