Biography
Born in a working class family. Jew .
Secondary education. Member of the CPSU since 1942 . In the Red Army since 1941 . He graduated from the KUKS and sent to the front.
On the front - from July 1941 . He was a volunteer of the 8th division of the national militia of the Krasnopresnensky district of Moscow . He passed the way from a private soldier to the deputy commander of the battalion in political affairs. He participated in the defense of Moscow, in the Battle of Stalingrad, liberated the Rostov region and the Donbass in 1943 , participated in the Yassy-Kishinev operation, in the Vistula-Oder and Berlin operations in 1945 .
In battle, on April 16, 1945, he led a battalion and with a swift attack he knocked out the Nazis from a height near the railway station Verbig (now Neulangz, north-west of the town of Zelow , Germany ). Then, fighting off enemy counterattacks, the soldiers of the battalion shot down and burned 6 tanks and 2 self-propelled guns, destroyed many fascists. He died in battle April 18, 1945.
It was originally buried on the banks of the Oder in the city of Kustrin (now Kostrzyn nad Odrou , Poland ). He was later reburied at the Soviet military cemetery in Tsybinka ( Slubitsky County , Lubusz Voivodeship , Poland ) in a mass grave No. 360. Relatives brought land from a mass grave to Moscow and placed it in the family grave at Donskoy cemetery (station 19).
Awards
- By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 15, 1946, for exemplary performance of combat missions of the command at the front of the struggle against the German fascist invaders and the courage and heroism shown to Captain Polyusuk Natan Mikhailovich, he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously).
- He was awarded the Order of Lenin and the Red Banner.
Memory
- The name of the Hero of the Soviet Union N. M. Polyusuka is immortalized on a memorial plaque installed on the facade of one of the buildings of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (14, Krasnokazarmennaya Street).
