Hongzehehu Lake ( Chinese р , Pinyin : Hóngzé Hú ) is a lake in the Chinese province of Jiangsu , surrounded by the urban districts of Huai'an and Suqian . It is the fourth largest freshwater lake in China.

The size of the lake increased 4 times in the XII century, after the Yellow River changed its course, blocking the flow of the Yellow River and forcing it to divert its waters to Hongzehe.
