Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory P.I. Tchaikovsky - children's special music school with an eleven-year course of study. Education is in both musical specialties and general education subjects. It was created in 1935 on the basis of the Children's Department of the Moscow Conservatory founded in 1932 .

Content
History
- 1932 - A Children's Department is created at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory to prepare students for admission to higher musical educational institutions. The initiators were Professor Alexander Borisovich Goldenweiser and Director of the Conservatory Stanislav Teofilovich Shatsky . A special children's group was organized for especially gifted children (about 15 people).
- 1935 - by order of the Government of the USSR, the Children's Department of the Moscow Conservatory was renamed the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory . A special children's group is integrated into the school system. The school is being transferred to a two-story building near the Moscow Conservatory. The school holds both music lessons and general education - according to the program of secondary schools.
- 1941 - Due to World War II, in August, the Central Music School was evacuated to Penza . Teachers and students are housed in the building of an art school, classes are held in the premises of the Penza Children's Music School No. 1 .
- 1943 - In October, the Central Music School returns to Moscow. The school enters a new standard four-story building, built near the Moscow Conservatory.
- 1954 - A composer-theoretic branch was opened at the Central School of Music.
- 1960s - Opening of the Boarding School in a pre-revolutionary mansion near the Central School. There is an opportunity to study at school for children from all over the Soviet Union.
- 1979 - TSMSh is closed for major repairs, transferred to a neighboring building. At the beginning of next year, he returns to his old place.
- 1987 - The building of the Central Music School is recognized as emergency and unsuitable for classes. In the fall of the same year, the Central School and the boarding school were transferred to General Karbyshev Boulevard , Building 15, Building 3 ( Oktyabrskoe Pole metro station ) to a typical five-story school building, unsuitable for teaching music and general subjects at the same time. The boarding school is located in the same building on the second floor (nicknamed by students “goatman”), there are no tutoring rooms (rooms with a piano where you can rehearse musical works yourself). The reconstruction period of the old building was 18 years.
- 2005 - In January, the reconstruction of the Central Music School was completed. The Central Music School returned to its former place in the building, fully equipped with everything necessary for music lessons. In the spring of 2005, the boarding school also returned to its place [1] .
Central Music School today
There are currently four concert halls at the Central Music School:
- Concert Hall (238 seats, two Steinway concert pianos on stage)
Concert Hall TsMSh
- Chamber Hall (128 seats, two Steinway concert pianos on stage)
- Concert Hall “On Kislovka” (100 seats, two Yamaha concert grand pianos and a Koot Haarlem organ on stage)
- Concert Hall of Early Music “On Kislovka” (40 seats)
Classes TSMSh equipped with modern soundproofing, most are concert pianos " Steinway ". There is a library and music library.
The school building has a cafeteria and a cafeteria.
