Content
Geographical location
The city is located at a distance of about 70 kilometers south-west of the regional center - Kropivnitskogo , 24 km from the geographical center of Ukraine in the village Dobrovelichkovka , on the Dnieper Upland . Nine kilometers west of the city of Pomichna, there is a tributary of the Sinyukha River (flows into the Southern Bug ) - the Black Tashlyk .
History
The settlement was founded on August 1, 1868 , was part of the Elisavetgrad district of the Kherson province .
The status of the city since 1957 [2] , in 1974, the population was 13.7 thousand people, there were enterprises operating at the railway station. transport, concrete products plant, brick factory, cannery, etc. [3]
In January 1989, the population size was12 322 people [4] , the basis of the economy at that time were the enterprises of railway transport and the cannery [2] .
As of January 1, 2013, the population was 9,210 people [5] .

Near the city passes the highway M-13 E 584 ( Kropivnitsky - Chisinau ).
Attractions
In Pomichna there is one of the world's first hyperboloid structures - steel openwork mesh water tower, designed by Vladimir Grigorievich Shukhov [6] .
