Symbols
The flag was developed on the basis of the coat of arms of the Turukhansk Village Council.
Turukhansk was founded in 1607 as a winter quarters - a stronghold of Russian advancement to the north of Siberia, into the basins of the Yenisei and Lena rivers.
In 1672, the hut was renamed the city of New Mangazeya , which became the center of trade and development of the Turukhansk Territory . In 1780 it was renamed Turukhansk and acquired the status of the county town of Tobolsk governorship . In the XIX century, the city was part of the Tomsk province , and then the Yenisei , becoming the center of the Turukhansky Territory, covering a vast territory.
The composition of the flag of the Turukhansky Village Council includes the historical coats of arms of the city of Turukhansk. Initially, the coat of arms, approved in 1785 , had a silver fox walking in a green field. In 1804, the emblem of the city underwent some changes - now the standing silver fox was in the red field. The Arctic fox in the coat of arms of Turukhansk, located in the Siberian expanses, indicated the importance of fur trade and the special quality of the skins being made.
The flag of the Turukhansky Village Council, combining both versions of the historical coat of arms, emphasizes the development of the village as one of the oldest settlements in the region.
