Trotsky County

Trotsky Uyezd is an administrative-territorial unit of the Petrograd (since 1924 - Leningrad ) province, which existed in 1923 - 1927 . The county town is Trotsk .

In November 1922, the Gatchina district with its center in the city of Gatchina was formed on the territory of the former Detskoselsky and Peterhof counties. When creating the Gatchina district, it included the district town of Gatchina , the sub-regional cities of Detskoe Selo , Slutsk , Kolpino , Krasny , Peterhof , Oranienbaum and 20 volosts. In February 1923, Gatchina was renamed Trotsk (in honor of L. D. Trotsky ), and the county - in Trotsky [2] .

On June 16, 1925, the city ​​of Krasny was again renamed to Krasnoye Selo , and were assigned: to the category of working villages - Ulyanovka , to the category of holiday villages - Vyritsa , Siverskaya , Strelna , Volodarsky .

On June 22, 1925, the city ​​of Kolpino was transferred from Trotsky Uyezd to Leningradsky .

On February 7, 1927, the following volosts were merged: Vengissarovskaya and Gubanitskaya - to Vengissarovskaya, Gostilitskaya and Medushskaya - to Gostilitskaya, Pulkovskaya and Slutskaya - to Detskoselskaya, Krasnoselskaya and Staroskvoritskaya - to Krasnoselskaya, Oranienbaum and Kovashevskaya - to Oranienbaum. The Ulyanovsk volost was transferred to the Leningrad district , so 14 volosts and 151 village councils remained in the county.

By a resolution of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of August 1, 1927, during the reform of the administrative-territorial division, the Leningrad province and all its counties were abolished. The territory of Trotsky Uyezd became part of Trotsky (34 village councils), Oranienbaumsky (33 village councils), Detskoselsky (28 village councils), Volosovsky (26 village councils), Uritsky (21 village council), Kotelsky (1 village council), Kolpinsky (1 village council) districts of the Leningrad District as well as the Oredezhsky (5 village councils) and Luga (2 village councils) districts of the Luga district of the Leningrad region [3] .

Population

According to the results of the 1926 All-Union population census, the county population was 292,053 people [1] , of which the urban population was 108,658.
