Description
"The flag of Igarka is a blue rectangular cloth with a 2: 3 ratio of width to length, reproducing in the center yellow, intertwined with rings, sea and river anchors in the rafters."
Justification of Symbols
The flag of Igarka is one and harmonious: all the figures symbolize the city of Igarka as a center for the development of the Yenisei North, a large port accessible for calling ships from the Yenisei Gulf . The main motive of the flag is “Igarka - the gate of the Arctic” (gate from the anchors).
The formation and development of the city is inextricably linked with the development of the Yenisei North and the northern sea route (sea anchor). The city of Igarka grew out of a settlement that sprang up on the river of the same name that flows into the Yenisei (river anchor).
For the first time, the Igarsky deep-water channel, protected from storms by the high right bank, was explored and mapped in the middle of the 18th century by the participants of the Great Northern Expedition F. Minin and H. Laptev .
An anchor - a symbol of hope - is one of the oldest symbols of humanity associated with the profession of sailors, sailors, rivermen, shipowners.
The connection of anchors with rings expresses the unity and cohesion of the people who created and are creating the city; the connection of anchors in the rafters (heraldic figure) (in the form of a roof, a house) is allegorically perceived as the roof of a house, and the house is a symbol of a secure and orderly life in which peace, friendliness and hospitality reign.
Yellow color ( gold ) is a symbol of constancy, strength, strength, generosity, wealth, greatness, intelligence and sunlight.
The blue color of the banner indicates the geographical location of the city of Igarka on the banks of the Igarsky channel of the Yenisei. In addition, in Igarka there is a unique and unique in the world local history complex “ Permafrost Museum ”, which also allegorically shows the blue color of the flag.
Blue color (light blue ) is a symbol of exalted aspirations, thinking, sincerity and virtue.
