On January 1, 2006, during the municipal reform , the municipal entity “Sosnogorsk City” was transformed into the municipal entity of the municipal district “Sosnogorsk” .

According to Article 6 of the Charter of the municipality of the Sosnogorsk municipality, the previously approved flag is the official symbol of the municipality of the Sosnogorsk municipality.

Description

“The flag of the city of Sosnogorsk is a rectangular bilateral cloth with a ratio of width to length 2: 3, divided by a forked white cross facing the shaft into three parts: red, green and blue; on top of the middle of the cross are yellow figures from the stamp: a current capercaillie sitting on a pine branch. ”

Justification of Symbols

The central figure of the flag of the city of Sosnogorsk (until 1957 - the city of Izhma) is a current capercaillie sitting on a pine branch. Capercaillie in the center of the flag shows that the city of Sosnogorsk is the geographical center of the Komi Republic; The capercaillie is the largest, strongest and most viable bird of the Komi forests and the pine branch allegorically show the features of nature and the advantageous position in the pine coniferous forests, making the flag “half-vowed”.

Yellow color ( gold ) symbolizes wealth, justice, respect, generosity.

The fork-shaped cross allegorically shows the confluence of two rivers - Izhma and Ukhta , on which the city of Sosnogorsk is located.

White color ( silver ) is a symbol of perfection, nobility, purity, faith, peace.

The blue part of the flag allegorically shows gas processing.

The blue color ( azure ) symbolizes the natural gas produced in the vicinity of the city, as well as the beauty of nature, impeccability, elevated aspirations, and virtue.

Red color is a symbol of the sun and warmth, beauty, joy and celebration.

Green color complements the symbolism of the nature of the city, and also this color symbolizes life, prosperity, stability.
