Description
Beetle from 9 to 13 mm long. The flight time of beetles is from May to August.
Distribution
Range of view: Europe and Russia .
Ecology and habitats
The life cycle of the species lasts 2 years. Feed plants are various species of conifers, for example, representatives of the genera: spruce ( Picea ), fir ( Abies ), pine ( Pinus ) and larch ( Larix ).

On the territory of Russia there are 3 subspecies:
- Carilia virginea aemula Mannerheim, 1852
- Carilia virginea kozhevnikovi Plavilstshikov, 1915
- Carilia virginea virginea (Linnaeus, 1758)
