The A. Krylov Prize is an award awarded by the Russian Academy of Sciences for selected best scientific works, discoveries, inventions, as well as for a series of scientific works on the use of computer technology in solving problems of mechanics and mathematical physics .
The award is named after Alexei Nikolayevich Krylov , the founder of ship theory, the author of many works on the theory of magnetic and gyroscopic compasses , on artillery , mechanics , mathematics and astronomy .
