Chemnitz Technical University or Chemnitz Technical University [1] (self-name of the university on the official website, German Technische Universität Chemnitz ) is a higher educational institution in Chemnitz , Germany . It was created on the basis of the craft school and in 1878 was renamed the “Technical State Educational Institutions of Chemnitz”. In 1986, it was renamed to its current name. The University is the third largest university in Saxony .
