The flag of the Municipal District “ Spas-Demensky District ” of the Kaluga Region of the Russian Federation is an identification mark serving as the official symbol of the municipality.

The current flag was approved on June 18, 2008 [1] and is subject to entry in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation .
Description
The description of the first flag, approved on January 28, 2008 [2] , read:
“The flag of the Spas-Demensky district is a rectangular panel with an aspect ratio of 2: 3. The sheet is divided by the honorary figure “rafters”, directed by the apex from the side of the shorter length, into two fields: red - inside, green - outside the figure, the color of the figure is silver, the width is one tenth of the larger side of the flag. ”
The description of the current flag, approved on June 18, 2008 [1] , reads:
“The flag of the Spas-Demensky district is a rectangular panel with a 2: 3 ratio of width to length, reproducing the composition of the coat of arms of the Spas-Demensky district in green, red, white and yellow.”
The heraldic description of the coat of arms reads: " In a green field, an overturned silver rafter lowered to the sides and distracted at the top, filled with scarlet, followed by a golden cross at the head ."
Symbols
The flag is based on the coat of arms of the Spas-Demensky district according to the rules and relevant traditions of heraldry and reflects historical, cultural, socio-economic, national and other local traditions.
The red color symbolizes the life-affirming force, labor, courage and courage shown by the Spasdemen in numerous wars on the Spas-Demensky land and beyond.
The green color symbolizes agriculture, in which for many years a significant part of the population of the region was occupied, the abundance of forest on the territory of the district, hope and abundance.
White color ( silver ) symbolizes kindness, purity, faith and perfection.
The image of the cross on the red field symbolizes fidelity, moderation, prudence, salvation and prosperity.
Yellow color ( gold ) symbolizes wealth, justice, stability, generosity.
