Justification of Symbols

The flag in its content is single and harmonious. All flag figures reflect the historical, geographical and socio-economic characteristics of the city of Sosensky.

The modern city of Sosensky was founded in the 50s of the XX century as a result of the construction of mines in the coal basin near Moscow. The lower part of the flag (purple) indicates that large reserves of brown coal were discovered in the territory of the modern city, the former Kozelsky district, which was of great importance for the country's coal mining and processing industries.

Purple means power, dignity, fame, honor, power.

The central figure of the flag - the pine - symbolizes vitality, stamina, steadfastness, overcoming adverse circumstances. At the same time, the pine tree also speaks of the name of the city, making the flag “vowel”, which in heraldry is considered one of the classic methods of creating a flag.

Yellow color (gold) symbolizes wealth, justice, respect, generosity.

The heraldic figures of the rafters (tips, arrows) allegorically show that enterprises are operating in the city that provide instrument-making rocket industries, astronautics and produce defense products.

White color (silver) in heraldry is a symbol of perfection, nobility, purity, faith, peace.

The blue (azure) and green parts of the flag show that the city of Sosensky is located in picturesque places, on the lands of the state forest fund, in which rare species of animals and birds live.

Blue color (light blue) corresponds to the sky, air and symbolizes elevated aspirations, thinking, sincerity.

Green is a symbol of spring, joy, hope, life, nature, as well as health.
