The Bahrain World Trade Center (also called the Bahrain WTC or BVTC ) is a 240-meter (787-foot) complex of double towers located in Manama , Bahrain . Built in 2008 by Atkins Construction Company. The design of these towers contains air bridges using wind generators .

The 50-story complex is located in close proximity to King Faisal Highway , near famous attractions such as the towers of the Bahrain Financial Bay , the National Bank of Bahrain , the three towers (gold, silver and black pearl) of the Abraj Al Lulu complex. The Bahrain World Trade Center is also the second tallest building in Bahrain, after the double towers of the Bahrain Financial Bay . The project has passed several environmental tests, including the “The 2006 LEAF Award for Best Use of Technology within a Large Scheme ” and the “The Arab Construction World for Sustainable Design Award” [1] .
The two towers are connected by three bridges , each of which has a 225 kW wind generator with a total capacity of 675 kW. Each of these turbines, with a diameter of 29 meters (95 feet), is oriented north, since it is from there, from the Persian Gulf, that the wind blows the largest number of days in a year. Ship-shaped towers are designed in the form of a tunnel, as a result of which the wind, passing through the tunnel, accelerates and passes through the turbines. The beneficial use between the towers of the tunnel, forming an S-shaped flow, was confirmed by tests showing that any wind coming at an angle of 45 ° to each side of the central axis will create a wind flow perpendicular to the turbines, which increases their potential for generating electricity [2] .
Wind turbines are designed to produce from 11 to 15% of the energy needed by the towers, or from about 1.1 to 1.3 GW · h of electricity per year. This is equivalent to producing light for 300 homes in one year [3] . Three turbines were switched on for the first time on April 8, 2008 and are designed to operate 50% of the time daily [1] .
The twin towers of the World Trade Center are featured in the Doomsday Formula Category B low-budget movie — they collapse due to seismic shocks.
