The flag of the Batamino Municipal Formation of the Zima District Municipality of the Irkutsk Region of the Russian Federation is an identification and legal sign that serves as the official symbol of the municipality .

The flag was approved on March 4, 2009 by the decision of the Duma of the Batamino Municipal Formation No. 40 [1] and on April 25, 2009 entered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation with assignment of registration number 4830 [2] .
Description
"A rectangular blue panel with a width to length ratio of 2: 3, reproducing the composition of the coat of arms of the rural settlement of Bataminskoe in white, gray, black, red and yellow."
The heraldic description of the coat of arms reads: “ In an azure (blue, blue) field on a golden trigovre, a silver crane with a red beak and legs and black tips of its wings, with two silver firs on its sides, standing with outstretched wings ” [3] .
Symbolization Justification
The village of Batam - the center of the municipality, was founded in 1908 . It was then that, within the framework of the Stolypin agrarian reform , the settling of deaf taiga lands by voluntary migrants began.
The composition of the flag in the language of symbols and allegories reflects the past and present of a rural settlement.
The symbolism of the crane on the flag of the settlement has many meanings:
- a crane as a migratory bird symbolizes the successful adaptation of Ukrainian settlers on Siberian land. Often the crane symbolizes conscientious work, vigilance and justice.
- the hills on which the crane stands, reflect the natural features of the municipality: the village on all sides surrounded by streams and marshes is located on a hill. According to some information, the word “Batam” in translation from the Buryat language means a hummock.
Firs symbolize the vastness of the Siberian taiga
Yellow ( gold ) - a symbol of harvest, wealth, stability, respect and intelligence, allegorically indicates the basis of the economy of the settlement - agriculture
White color ( silver ) is a symbol of purity and perfection, peace and understanding. The white color on the flag of the settlement also allegorically indicates Ziminsky district, which includes the municipality.
Blue ( azure ) is a symbol of honor, nobility, spirituality, endless blue sky.
Red color is a symbol of labor, strength, courage, fortitude, beauty and celebration.
Black color is a symbol of fertility, wisdom, modesty, eternity of being.
