Biography
She was born on November 18, 1900 in Ivanovo-Voznesensk (now Ivanovo ) of the Vladimir province in a family of workers. After school, she worked in the Shuya Drama Theater , then - in the theaters of Kineshma , Ivanov , Yaroslavl , Moscow . During the Second World War , having refused to evacuate, she played in the theater for front-line soldiers. In 1947-1951 she worked in the GDR in the theater under the Soviet military unit. Then, for about 20 years, at the Taganka Theater . At the same time starred in the movie: the roles were episodic, but colorful.
In the 1970s, Ekaterina Yakovlevna decided to devote herself to the places where she grew up. She took an active part in the creation of a local history museum in the city of Shuya and the village of Vasilyevskoye in the Shuy district of the Ivanovo region , where she donated her personal collection of antiques , including Russian and foreign paintings and drawings of the 19th-20th centuries, ceramics, beadwork, antique furniture - only about a thousand exhibits.
