Qitaihe ( Chinese ex. 七台河 , pinyin : Qītáihé ) is an urban district in Heilongjiang Province of China . The name of the county comes from the Tsitache River.

Content
History
After the formation of the Republic of China, these lands were divided between the districts of Yilan (依兰 县) and Baoqing (宝清县). In 1918, Boli County (勃利县) was isolated from Yilan County.
In 1958, coal mining began in these places. In 1960, the village of Qitaihe was formed. In 1965, by a decision of the State Council of the Peoples Republic of China, the village of Qitaihe with the surrounding territory was allocated from Boli County to the Special Region of Qitaihe (七台河 特区). In 1970, Qitaihe Special District was transformed into Qitaihe City County (七台河 市). In 1983, Qitaihe City County was elevated to the urban district, and it also included Boli County and part of the lands of Baoqing County; the territory of the former city district Qitaihe was at the same time divided into three districts.
