The AI-26 engine was created in the late 40s of the XX century especially for the first Soviet mass helicopter Mi-1 . Practically represents a “half” (one row of cylinders) of the ASh-82 engine without a boost system. Chief Designer - A. G. Ivchenko . The company that produced this engine, in different years, had various designations, at present - Motor Sich [1] . In total, more than 4000 AI-26 engines of various modifications were manufactured.
