Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction

The history of the university dates back to 1920 , when the Baku Polytechnic Institute was founded. One of the main faculties of the institute was the Faculty of Civil Engineering. In 1920, 110 students studied at the faculty, the number of which grew every year. In 1975, by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Civil Engineering Institute was established on the basis of 4 faculties and several specialized departments of the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute. In 1992, the institute received university status. On June 13, 2000, by order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, the university was renamed the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction ^[1] .

The faculty consists of 700 teachers. More than 100 doctors of sciences, professors, more than 400 candidates of sciences, associate professors and senior teachers.

The university has 42 departments. They are divided into socio-political and humanitarian, general scientific, general technical and departments of specialties.

Currently, the university has 5 academic buildings with a total area of ​​49,000 square meters ^[2]

The dean's office of foreign students has been working since 1977 and prepares specialists for foreign countries. Over the past period, about 1000 students from more than 40 countries graduated from the university, and about 50 foreigners received a scholarship. Currently, about 400 undergraduate and postgraduate students from 15 countries study at the university.

Foreign citizens studying at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction are accommodated in the hostel of the university, a contract is signed, they solve registration and visa issues. The dean's office of foreign students is associated with the construction departments of foreign universities and other organizations. 65 teachers train foreign citizens. 2 of them are doctors of sciences, professors, 15 candidates of sciences, associate professors.

The university switched to a multi-level education system: a bachelor's degree - 4 years, a master's degree - 2 years. Education at the university is carried out both on a paid and on a free basis ^[3] .

The opening ceremony of the new NetcadKampus training center from the Central University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, as well as the Turkish company Netcad, was held at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction. The purpose of the campus is to provide teachers and employees of the University of Architecture and Construction with effective information on the use of computer programs in this area. In the center, Turkish experts conduct regular trainings. ^[four]

Faculty of Architecture

In 1968, after the separation of the architectural faculty from the construction faculty, the faculty of architecture was created. Education at the faculty is conducted in Azerbaijani, Russian and English. The faculty has established partnerships with many foreign countries: USA, Germany, France, Egypt, Turkey, Iran, Italy and others.

Faculty of Construction

The faculty was founded in 1920. In 1954, this faculty became the largest faculty of the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute, where 1,500 students studied. In 1975, when the Azerbaijan Institute of Civil Engineers was founded, the faculty became part of this university, and a year later the faculties “Sanitary Engineering” and “Construction Technologies” were organized on its basis. The faculty employs specialists in the field of industrial and civil engineering, urban and municipal construction and economics, real estate management and expertise. Training is conducted in Azerbaijani and Russian languages. The faculty employs 58 people, including 7 professors, 38 candidates of sciences, associate professors, senior teachers and teachers. There are 7 departments at the faculty:
