The great Ayatollah Muhammad-Reza Hosseini Shirazi ( 1959 - June 1, 2008 ) is a Shiite religious leader, the eldest son of Muhammad Shirazi .

Biography
Muhammad-Reza Shirazi was born in Karbala ( Iraq ) in 1962 . Later, together with his father, he first moved to Kuwait , and then to Qom , where he continued his studies, having attained the status of Alim , who has the right to Ijtihad , at the age of twenty.
Shirazi gained fame as a talented theologian and speaker, whose lectures broadcast several channels daily. He has authored a number of books, including a two-volume interpretation of the Qur'an.
He died at the age of 48, early in the morning of June 1, 2008 , while in his house. Buried in Karbala. According to some reports, up to two million people took part in the funeral procession [1] .
