She wrote the words and music of the song on her own ^[3] . The single was presented on September 1 on the Russian Peppers program on Russian Radio ^[4] . It is believed that the song became the first single from the album " Loner ", however, in early 2009, the release of the song " Sky, fall asleep ", which was also included in the album, but under the name "Birds", took place.

In October, two official remixes of the song “On the Radio Waves (DJ Fisun Remix)” (released as part of the album) and “On the Radio Waves (DJ Renat Remix)” (missing from the album) ^[5] went into circulation. In addition, the album features “On the Radio Waves (Kirbas GASpromo remix)”.

There is also a version of the song for Love Radio , where instead of “And only on the radio waves ...” MakSim sings “Only on love radio waves ...”.

In the review of the album " Loner ", on the site of the project "MirMage", they wrote that "the album is already opened sensational song" On the radio waves "". The site noted the "beautiful (albeit simple)" lyrics of the song, as well as the remixes included in the gift edition of the album for this song ^[6] . Alexey Mazhaev, of Intermedia.ru, said that “the first radio single“ On the Radio Waves ”, with all its sympathy, does not reach the high standards set by Max's previous hits” ^[7] . Natalya Vetvitskaya from the newspaper Argumenty i Fakty , describing the singer’s performance at the B1 club, during the concert tour , in support of the album, wrote that the song was “in the spirit of the old MakSim”. Filming

On October 22, 2009, Newsmusic.ru reported that a video clip for the song had been shot. The video was shot in California , USA , on the Pacific coast. The video was based on a plot in the form of a love triangle between MakSim and two young people, one of which is the girl’s former friend, and the other is the current one.

The director of the video was the famous Russian music video maker Pavel Khudyakov . The technical team of filming included American professionals. The operator of the video was Maz Mahani, who also worked with Beyoncé and Fergie . Makeup artist Torsten Witt worked on the singer’s image. During the shootings, MakSim had to shoot a lot barefoot and even go into cold water, which not all locals decide in September. According to the publication with reference to the news agency Intermedia.ru, the clip was supposed to be released in mid-November 2009 ^[10] . Also on October 22, on the Muz.ru portal, several photos from the filming of the clip were published ^[11] .

According to the Russian version of Billboard magazine, the video clip for this song was the seventh most rotated video clip in Russia in 2010 ^[12] .

As of March 2019, the video on the singer’s official channel on YouTube has gained more than 8.4 million views ^[13] .

The single reached the 3rd place in the general radio chart of the CIS countries ^[5] , as well as to the 1st place in the Golden Gramophone charts ^[18] . In the pan- European European Hot 100 chart, the song took 54th position ^[19] .

The song was successful in selling mobile content. According to the content company IMMO, the song ranked third in the mobile mp3 sales chart for the first three quarters of 2010. The composition was second only to the songs of Vera Brezhneva “ Love will save the world ” and Lady Gaga “ Alejandro ” ^[20] .
