Story
Spouses Kuznetsov married seventeen years. Maria is a high school literature teacher; Sergey is an engineer at a research institute. The Kuznetsovs are experiencing a “midlife crisis.” Sergei and Maria understand that they have long lived not as spouses, but as neighbors. Their daughter Julia, a student at the sewing technical school, is already sixteen and she has long been living with her interests, and her twelve-year-old son Alexander, who is increasingly not at home, is growing up.
The family crisis is exacerbated by the collapse of the USSR. The family has serious problems with money, Sergei loses his job, which already paid a penny. Masha becomes the main earner in the family, in addition to school work, taking "private" students to class. Through one of the students - Vadim Sorokin, she gets acquainted with the famous fashion designer Igor Shvedov. A middle-aged couturier begins to look after Masha, realizing that for the first time in his life he fell in love and is ready for marriage. Mary agrees to leave her husband for his sake. She leaves for Shvedov, having discovered that she is pregnant from a fashion designer, but she is not calm at heart - it seems to her that she betrayed her first husband, leaving him in a difficult life moment. Because of jealousy for the first Machine marriage, a scandal occurs between her and the Shvedov, as a result of which Masha runs away from her new husband’s house at night. As a result, she ends up in a hospital where she is diagnosed with a miscarriage. Julia, having hated her mother, also having visited the Ostankino concert studio, gets acquainted with Maxim, not knowing that he is an apartment thief who nearly robbed her grandmother. He himself works as the junior administrator of the singer Madeleine, his producer Innokenty Mikhailovich took him on bail. He informs Yulia that this singer is a disabled girl isolated from society. It turns out that her name is the same as the teacher. Her aunt Katya informs Yulia about her mother’s illness. Julia accuses Shvedov of what happened. Her friend Nastya is being stolen from her. Julia, realizing that Max had deceived her, still decides to visit Masha. Masha is glad to see her daughter, she tells her about the reasons for her departure. Yulia becomes sorry for her mother, and also Shvedova is sorry for her. She is sent from the hospital on the advice of Shvedov to a sanatorium near Alma-Ata, owned by an old friend of Igor Shvedov. On the mountain road, Masha gets into a terrible accident and dies (due to the death of Maria Zubareva, the plot was changed, in the original version Masha had to return to Sergey). Further development of the plot is as follows: all the models he prepared for the trip to Rome are stolen from Shvedov, Lena Polzunova marries the policeman Boris Vologdin, Julia marries Igor (Shvedov’s son), Katya tries to arrange her life, she goes to Shvedov herself with daughter Alyonka. Gosh is shot on the way to the airport, after which Alyonka loses her speech. Following Masha, the mother of Sergei Anna Stepanovna dies. Alik helps Katya in search of her daughter.

Criticism
The series caused negative reviews from the audience. Literary critic Natalya Ivanova spoke of him as follows: “Quiet horror - it’s not even the level of films, but the very manner of the game and the relationship between people that are adequately reproduced by poor actors” [3] .
