Title
The name "binaries" is derived from the word "binary", which means "binary". This refers to the binary code that all electronic programs consist of, including games. Perhaps the idea was inspired by the name of the Game.EXE journal - .exe in the name meant the file extension and executable file format used in DOS , Microsoft Windows , and some others.
History
The site appeared in 2007 and was originally the author’s blog of Igor Kuznetsov (known by the nickname brainsolid on the network). He has worked in publications such as the Ukrainian magazine Gameplay , the Russian FHM and the site lookatme.ru
In February 2008, binaries won the Enthusiast Internet Award 2007 in the Gaming [1] [2] [3] category. In February 2009, binaries re-won the Enthusiast Internet Award 2008 in the Gaming category [4] [5] .
Since December 2008, each registered user has the opportunity to publish their articles on the site, after which binaries ceased to be an author's blog and became a collective [6] .
