The length of the river according to various sources is 1178 or 1619 kilometers. The average depth of the river is about 9 meters, the maximum depth is 21.3 meters. The average width of the river is 400 meters, the maximum width is 1069 meters.
The Beni River has a complex hydrography along its way, often changes direction and has many rapids .
On the border with Brazil, the Beni River, together with other rivers Mamor and Madre de Dios, forms the Madeira River, which, in turn, flows into the Amazon .
There is a project for the construction of a hydroelectric station on a river in the Angosto del Bala gorge.
In 1981, the events of the autobiographical novel “The Jungle: An Incredible and True Story of Survival” by Yossi Ginsberg and his subsequent film adaptation of the year 2017, the film “The Jungle ”, take place.
