Origin
Juditta was the eldest daughter of Czech King Premysl Ottokar I and his second wife Constantia of Hungary . On the paternal side, she was the granddaughter of the Czech prince Vladislav II , a participant in the Second Crusade , who received in 1158 the hereditary royal title from Friedrich Barbarossa for participating in his campaigns, and Juditt of Thuring . On the maternal line was the granddaughter of the King of Hungary Bela III and the Princess of Antioch in Agnes .
Marriage and Children
In 1213 Juditta married the Duke of Carinthia Bernard . The medieval chronicler John of Victring , who was the chaplain and secretary of Heinrich Khorutansky , linked their marriage with a romantic love story at first sight.
During the years of marriage, Judith and Bernard had four children:
- Ulrich III (Duke of Carinthia)
- Philip
- Margarita
- Bernard
Juditta probably died while giving birth to Bernard’s son in 1230 .
