Chile at the Olympics

Chile first took part in the Athens Summer Olympics in 1896 . After skipping the three summer Olympics, Chilean athletes returned to the Olympic family only in 1912 in Stockholm , since then Chilean athletes participated in all the Summer Olympics, except for the Games in Los Angeles in 1932 and the Games in Moscow in 1980 . At the Winter Olympics, Chile made its debut in St. Moritz in 1948, and since then has only missed the Winter Games in Sapporo and Lake Placid .

During the performance at the Olympic Games, Chilean athletes won 13 Olympic medals : 2 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze. All medals were won at the Summer Olympics in tennis , equestrian , football , athletics , boxing and shooting competitions .

Chile's National Olympic Committee was formed in 1934 .
