Chile first took part in the Athens Summer Olympics in 1896 . After skipping the three summer Olympics, Chilean athletes returned to the Olympic family only in 1912 in Stockholm , since then Chilean athletes participated in all the Summer Olympics, except for the Games in Los Angeles in 1932 and the Games in Moscow in 1980 . At the Winter Olympics, Chile made its debut in St. Moritz in 1948, and since then has only missed the Winter Games in Sapporo and Lake Placid .
