The flag of the Vozhegodsky municipal district is an identification mark, compiled and used in accordance with vexillological rules, serving as a symbol of the municipality, the unity of its territory, population, rights and self-government. The flag is, along with the main municipal symbol - the coat of arms , the official symbol of the Vozhegodsky municipal district of the Vologda Oblast of the Russian Federation .

2007 Flag
Description
βThe flag of the Vozhegodsky municipal district is a green cloth with a 2: 3 ratio of width to length, carrying a simplified version of the figures and colors of the fields of the coat of arms of the district with a blue stripe in the center 1/3 of the flag length.β
Justification of Symbols
The flag, developed on the basis of the coat of arms of Vozhegodsky district, in the language of symbols and allegories reflects the historical, cultural and economic features of the region.
The districtβs flag is based on the historical origin of the Vozhegodsky district, connected with the construction of the Moscow - Arkhangelsk Northern Railway in 1895, as evidenced by the silver-winged railway wheel located in the center of the flag.
The blue strip symbolizes all the water resources of the region and the most significant river - Vozhega , and is also a symbol of sincerity, beauty, clear sky and altitude.
The green color of the side fields is a symbol of abundance, life and rebirth, and it also symbolizes the nature of the area and the importance of agriculture in the area.
White (silver) spruce trees symbolize rich forest resources, one of the most significant in the life of the region.

Justification of Symbols
The flag, developed on the basis of the coat of arms of Vozhegodsky district, in the language of symbols and allegories reflects the historical, cultural and economic features of the region.
The figure of the locomotive, located in the center of the flag, symbolizes the construction of the Northern Railway Moscow - Arkhangelsk , which began in 1895 .
The lateral azure (blue) fields symbolize all the water resources of the region and the most significant rivers - Vozhega and Kubena , and are also a symbol of sincerity, beauty, clear sky and altitude.
Silver (white) spruce trees symbolize rich forest resources, one of the most significant in the life of the region.
Green is a symbol of abundance, life and rebirth, and it also symbolizes the nature of the area and the importance of agriculture in the area.
Gold (yellow color) is a symbol of strength, grandeur, wealth, intelligence and generosity.
