Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge

Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge is a sequel to Rayman 3 , which was released exclusively for Game Boy Advance in early 2005. The plot unfolds shortly after the events of its predecessor and, according to tradition, is full of parodies of classic platformers . Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge and Rayman Raving Rabbids for the Nintendo DS are the only isometric platformers in the Rayman series.

Story

The game begins with a video clip where we see Rayman and Globox sleeping in the Fairy Council. In a dream, Globox recalls the events of Rayman 3 . Suddenly he wakes up due to a strange sound and goes off in search of his source (perhaps he was captured by the Zlooms). Waking up, Rayman does not find his friend and leaves in search of him.

Murphy is in his travels and reports that the Zlum have revived and are trying to clone Reflux, Rayman's former rival, and that the clone feeds plum juice. Murphy convinces Rayman to first destroy the Infernal Machine, supplying the Zlum with plum juice, before attempting to find Globox.

Meanwhile, in the Moody Swamp Andre, who, as it turns out, is again inside Globoks, begins to slowly subjugate his consciousness to himself. Later, after meeting with Rayman, Andre Globoks, confused and unsuspecting of parasitism, shuns him, throwing insults at his expense (“annoying loser”, “brake”, etc.). But Rayman, being preoccupied with his salvation, could not hear harsh statements, although at some point he asked Globox: "Have you hit your head?"

Lands come in their way, where they must save the tins and defeat a couple of bosses (“Begonyak Swamp” and “Last Fire Gorge” are levels with bosses, excluding “Infernal Machine” and “Reflux Refuge”). In the Gorge of the Last Fire, after the defeat of the Fire Monster, Andre takes complete control of Globox and announces his return. Zombie Globoks escapes to the new headquarters of the Zlumov.

When, finally, Rayman defeats the Reflux clone, the trembling Globox through the mouth comes out Andre's black soul and disappears away. The host wakes up from complete control and even asks if he has skipped breakfast. The story ends with a walk in the woods of friends.

Gameplay

  • This game is the first game in the series using an isometric (2.5D) view. Most levels put the player under Rayman's control, while other levels let you control his friend, Globox. At certain levels, the player has the ability to control both of them - by clicking on the "Select" button, he can switch between characters.
  • The goal of each level is to get to the end and get the maximum possible number of points (for this the player must collect gems and Red Lumas, which are scattered throughout the level). In addition, the release of tins and the destruction of enemies give the player points. At the end of the level, the Murphy mark is given, depending on the result of the end of the stage. Murphy marks are not important to complete the game, but after receiving a certain amount of them, an additional 5 levels are unlocked (in stages).
