Geographical position
Smolny is 50 km away. from the regional center of Chelyabinsk , 27 km. from the district center with. Dolgoderevenskoe , 3 km. from the federal highway M-5 .
The relief is a plain ( West Siberian lowland ). Landscape - forest-steppe . Population : 476 (in 1959-340, in 1970-601, in 1983-472, in 1995-457).
History
The village was founded after 1916 on the site of the Smolenev (Smolin) settlement. In the 1930s in the village of Smolnoye. Farm No. 3 of the Muslyumovsky state farm was located, then a state farm department. Specialization - dairy and potato farming.
Enterprises
Until March 2010, a branch of OJSC Niva was located in the village. Since August 2011, former livestock farms with the participation of Turkish entrepreneurs are being reconstructed to grow champignons .
There is a school (founded in 1956 ), a kindergarten (closed in 2001 ), the House of Culture , a feldsher-midwife center, shops , transport links with the regional and regional centers.
