Dark Horse Comics began publishing the series in 2001, with a break between the 6th and the last two releases due to the fact that Molin was busy working on the horror comic strip Route 666 for CrossGen Comics . When the series was canceled in August 2003, the publisher released a version of all 8 issues in hard cover, and in a promotional video for a charity campaign, Whedon stated that Frey’s story is not over yet [1] , and at the comic con Comid Con Whedon said that it there will not be a definite return to the universe of the future, but readers will still meet with Frey [2] . The heroine appears in the title role in one of the episodes of the 8th season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
The series is largely a continuation of the traditions of the 7th and 8th (in the form of comics) show seasons and expands the universe of the series - Buffy explores the origins of his mystical power, lifting the veil of secrecy over the essence of the fighters.
