History
The theater was created in 1918 in F.F. Komissarzhevsky with the participation of V.M. Bebutov and was located in the building of the theater of the former. Zone. Originally called the KhPSRO Theater Studio, in 1919, after Komissarzhevsky's departure abroad (in July), it was renamed the New KhPSRO Theater [1] .
Both dramatic and musical performances were staged at the theater; it opened on November 28, 1918 with the opera by V. A. Mozart “ Abduction from the Seraglio ”. The founders of the theater believed that the actor should own all the artistic means, and sought to create synthetic performances [1] .
After the departure of F.F. Komissarzhevsky, the theater was headed by V. M. Bebutov. In December 1919, due to severe cold weather, performances were discontinued, and in February 1920 the theater was disbanded.
The troupe of the theater included V.V. Barsova , N.N. Ozerov, A. Ya. Zakushnyak , K.V. Eggert, M.I. Babanova , M.I. Zharov , I.V. Ilyinsky and others. In February In 1920, the theater building ( Bolshaya Sadovaya St. , 20) was given to the 1st Theater of the RSFSR , where most of the troupe of the theater, led by Bebutov, moved on to [1] . Today in this building is the Concert Hall named after P.I. Tchaikovsky .
