Gorokhovets flag

“The flag of the city of Gorokhovets is a rectangular yellow cloth with a ratio of width to length 2: 3, bearing along the lower edge a green strip of 1/4 of the cloth and images of five green pea stems shifted to the vertical axis on black poles (the bottom of these images goes to the strip) ".

The flag of the city of Gorokhovets was created taking into account its coat of arms , developed on the basis of the historical coat of arms of the city of Gorokhovets, Vladimir governorate , highly approved on August 16 (27), 1781 , the true description of which reads:

“In the upper part of the coat of arms of Vladimіrskіy. In the lower - in the golden field, peas grown on black sticks, meaning the name of this city. ”

Gorokhovets is one of the oldest cities in Vladimir land, the first mention of it dates back to 1239 , when it was a stronghold of the Vladimir-Suzdal principality . Now Gorokhovets is one of the most beautiful cities in the Vladimir region, which has preserved many architectural monuments.

The use of the composition of the historical coat of arms symbolizes the continuity of generations and the careful attitude of local residents to their past.

Yellow color (gold) is a symbol of wealth, harvest, stability, respect and intelligence.

Green is a symbol of health, vitality, nature.

Black color is a symbol of modesty, wisdom and eternity of being.
