Career

Pelegrina in the magazine El Gráfiso

Manuel Pelegrina began his career at the Lavalier Club, performing in his hometown of San Vicente . In 1938, he moved to the Estudiantes club, which was looking for a replacement for Enrique Guaita , who was leaving the sport. Pelegrina spent 12 years at Estudiantes, scoring 221 goals, which is still a club record.

In 1953, Pelegrina, together with teammates, Ricardo Infante and Gabriel Ogando , moved to Huracan . The transfer was due to pressure on the leadership team of Argentina, including the president, Juan Domingo Peron , who created the “Control Commission” of the club and the salaries of the players, and also because the club flew into the second Argentine division. In "Hurricane" Pelegrina spent 29 games and scored 10 goals.

A year later, Pelegrina returned to Estudiantes, after a decision on payments to players, and spent another 3 years in the club. He finished Pelegrin's career at the Defensores de Cambaceres club, which was coached by Alberto Sosay , with whom Pellegrina played at Estudiantes in the late 1930s.

In the national team of Argentina, Manuel Pelegrina spent 4 matches and scored 2 goals. He was a participant in the 1945 South American Championship , but did not enter the field at the tournament [3] . A small number of Pelegrina's match is due to the fact that Felix Loustau and Enrique Garcia took his place on the left flank of the attack.
