Biography
Born in 1959 in Plovdiv . He began to practice gymnastics from the age of seven. Since 1972 he trained under the leadership of Nikola Nikolov. He served in the army, graduated from the National Sports Academy. After leaving sports, he settled in the United States , where he works as a coach at his Deltchev Gymnastics school in Reno , Nevada [2] .
Sports career
He made his international debut in 1977 at the European Championship in Vilnius, where he became the first in performances on the crossbar. At the age of 16 he performed at the Montreal Olympics , however, he did not rise on the podium.
Two years later, at the World Championships in Strasbourg, Stoyan Delchev already won two bronze medals - on a horse and on the crossbar, and the following year brings him “golden” success: in the European Championship he becomes the absolute champion, winning “gold” in floor exercises, “ silver "on the crossbar and" bronze "in the vault. He became the first European absolute champion who has not yet turned 20 years old.
The top of his career was the Olympics in Moscow, where Delchev took third place in the overall standings and brilliantly worked on the crossbar [3] [4] . He completed his sports career at 23.

- The performance of the humorous sideshow “Salto Delchev” brought great popularity to the KVN team “ Ural dumplings ” and personally to the performers of the number Dmitry Sokolov and Dmitry Brekotkin .
