Jacob & Josef Kohn (Jacob & Joseph Kon ) - a company for the manufacture of bent Viennese furniture , founded in the second half of the 19th century in Austria-Hungary by Jacob Kon and his son Josef. [one]
The Kon company was the main competitor of the Thonet Brothers company not only in the European market, but also in America , Africa , Asia and India .
At the 1878 World's Fair in Paris , Ya. and I. Kon ”and its rival“ Brothers Sinking ”receive gold medals. At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, the Joint-Stock Company Jacob and Joseph Kon supplied about 1,500 models of bent Viennese furniture to Tsarist Russia. It had its own factories, representative offices and shops in Russia .

The company was founded by Jacob Kon in 1849. In 1878, it was created under the name Jacob and Joseph KOH. At the Paris exhibition, the first place was given to a salon chair for the construction of legs. Later in Kiev at the beginning of the 20th century, this chair was thrown from the second floor for advertising purposes, competing with similar products of competitors and won.
